Eventhough there is a financial crisis these days a virtual gold farming business was just bought for $ 10 million according to Wired. So not only is the business (MyMMOshop.org) virtual the product it sells is also virtual. The business model is to let low pay workers collect gold and other “valuable” items in online games and sell them to real players.
The interesting part is that the buyer says that the reason for buying the company is that virtual items are one of the things not devaluated in the current crisis.
