10 impossible inventions by lunchtime

When I was with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office one of the best assignments was to sit in on letters to inventors trying to patent the impossible. I once saw the cure for cancer patent –involving the Danish queen as a part of the invention.

Jason Torchinsky runs a blog called “Jalopnik” and has a fun post about the history of cars fueled on water – an impossible invention. It’s a good mix of pretty basic science and history of waterpowered cars. It also shows that some people will still believe inventors with impossible enventions. As Jason points out what drws people to the impossible inventions is the impossibility itself.
