Small company TK Energi from Denmark just landed a deal with Shell worth billions. The company has developed a method of gasification in coal. The company is just 15 employees today, but expects to employ around 1000 in 5 years time. That’s growth!
Behind this success story is one patented technology. If you look at the patent history of the company it is obvious that they were careful to protect every step and improvement of their invention thus securing the deal with shell. A very fine example of a good patent strategy, which also landed them venture capital investments from “Vækstfonden”-  Danish public venture capital.
