Taking your literary rights even further than Creative Commons

Artist Brian Wood has released his last sketch book in the public domain for free download. This was part of what was discussed at the Some Rights Reserved Salon the other day. And here is an artist going even further. He writes that he hopes that people will buy the limited edition.

This is an example og how an artist actually can give away some of his cakes and still eat the rest. Wood is the creator of DMZ a very popular and well done comic book. This obviously makes money for him. At the same time he releases some of his work thus playing both the free and proprietary violins at the same time. His comic is published by one of the major publishers DC and shows that it can work even if you have a big publisher.
