The EPO has posted a draft of new examination guidelines applicable from april 2010.
A curious thing is that there is no invitation to comments from the users, only a statement that it is a draft. It would be a good thing for the office to try and tap into some of the experiences and opinions of the users. Not that all opinions on the interpretation of the EPC are all valid, but it would be a gesture of openness and could generate some good points for re-drafting.
What changes that has been made is not clear, since the draft does not contain a “track changes” overview which could have been very usefull.Â
