Of course Chicken Tikka Masala is from Scotland

Here I was thinking that dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala and balti served by Indian restaurants was in fact from india. I was wrong it seems. Spicy IP has a post claiming that Mohammad Sarwar, Labour MP for Glasgow Central wants EU to register a Protected Designation of Origin for Tikka Masala. This mean that if granted the PDO results in that, the entire product must be traditionally and ENTIRELY manufactured (prepared, processed AND produced) within the specific region and thus acquire unique properties.

Its like Feta cheese can only be Greek, Parma ham only from Parma and so on…but chicken Tikka Masala only Scottish? That was a surprise.
