Open source movies

Last sunday I was surprised watching the Danish Movie show “Premiere”. The host is somewhat different and in the middle of a sentence he suddenly claimed that copyrights and patents are harmful to moviemaking. He referred to an open source movie he called fantastic as an attempt to counter the conservative IP approach. At first I thought it was a reference to a move earlier screened on danish television but it turned out to be “RiP: A Remix Manifesto“. RIP is a part of open source cinema which “is a collaborative website, an application designed to help filmmakers and audiences create together.”

I havent watched RIP yet so after I do Ill post a review. Anyone watched teh movie??
